Getting Started


On my first day and no children are appearing on the tablets or Daily sign-in sheets but they are showing on the Children grid, what is going on

The MOE rule is that children cannot appear in sign-in reports without an NSI.


You will probably notice that in the Children grid there are lots of "Pending NSI", which means the child record does not have an NSI/NSN recorded. When you are creating children's records you need to do an "NSN Search" to check the MOE database to give you a list of likely matches, with the option to "add a new one", providing you have the required information.

You can only connect to the MOE one system at a time - for those upgrading to Discover from another provider please complete your task from the previous system before we connect you to MOE/ELI.


How do I create reports and day sheets by Room?


Go to Reports > Children Reports > Daily Sign In. You can select the date range and sort by room.

Do I need to do an upload at the end of each week to MOE?


Go to Reports > Children Reports > Daily Sign In. You can select the date range and sort by room.

How do I include a note for a child on a day sheet?


In the daily sign-in, in the 'Report Fields & Options' you have the ability to add/remove a Comments column.

When I click on the Children button and the list of children is displayed, is there any way I can change what is displayed?


The ability to alter what is displayed on the Children list is not available, but we have reports that you can add additional fields to. See Children Reports > Child Details Report.

Why does the Enrolment fee need to be set up for each day and not assumed it will be the same for the rest of the week?


This is so you can select a different fee type for a specific day if necessary. If your rules for your fees are well defined and you don't have exceptions, then Discover will pick the correct fee or restrict the list to just those that are applicable to the timetable you have set.


How do I create a report with all the children’s details?


Go to Reports>Children Reports>Child Details. In the 'Report Fields' select what options you want to appear on your report.

How do I allocate a teacher to a child?


At the bottom of the child's details page, there is the 'Head Teacher' field - select the teacher as required.


How do I set up payments direct from WINZ?


You will find instructions for this by going to Help and searching for "WINZ" and selecting the article on "Automating WINZ payments" and also "Reconciling WINZ Payments".


When MOE requires me to 'end enrolments' in APT/Infocare, does this mean I need to go into each child and change their end date?


Yes, it does.

Infocare - To end the enrollment for children currently enrolled, Go to Children, Select the child and select Modify, and set the 'Date Leaving' to the last day that you are using Infocare. This will mean that you claim funding up to, and including that day.

APT - You set the end date of the enrolments to the last day before switching to Discover

Also, complete your RS7 in your previous system for filing manually at the end of the funding period - see Final RS7 at cut-over to Discover.
