Child Fields (OPTIONAL)

Custom fields allow centres to create additional fields to appear on Child Profiles. These can also flow through to the Digital Enrolment Form. Parents can then fill this out when the child enrols rather than you having to do it later.


These can be in formats to suit a variety of possible fields: 

Text 

Date 

Checkbox 

Dropdown 


There are 2 types of fields that can be created: 

1. Permission fields appear on the enrolment form (both the online version that parents fill out and the preprinted forms) and take the form of True/False fields only. 

2. General fields do not appear on the enrolment form, but have more flexibility in terms of input types - they can accept text, dates, lists and checkboxes. 

By default, Discover may come with several permission fields already set up. However, these can be deleted or changed as needed to customise them for your centre. 


To create a Custom field, click Create New. 

  • Field Type: General or Permission 
  • Field Name: Type in the question or prompt you would like the parent/guardian to enter. 
  • Field Tool Tip: This will give further insights to other admins as to what information should be held in this box 
  • Field Type:  How this will be answered (True/False, Text Line, Date, List).  
  • Report Title:  How the field will be displayed in Reports - Input up to 12 characters 
  • Show On Enrolment Form: This question will appear on the enrolment form 
  • Show On Printed Enrolment Form: This will appear on the printed version of the enrolment form 
  • Is required: This must hold a response in order to move forward 
  • Click 'Create' when the relevant fields have been completed

Categories (OPTIONAL)

Staff Fields (OPTIONAL)

This allows you to capture custom information in your Staff Profiles that you don't already have.

Custom Phrases (OPTIONAL)

For example: Click on Tablet HelloContact > Change the Default Phrase to what you want the tablet to display when a contact signs in to the tablet > Save

Scroll Past Ratios as for Homebased they are set up via the Educator Profile > Under Home


Licenses (MANDATORY) 

This will be done by your onboarding specialist. You can check this has been set up correctly by going to Centre Set Up > Licenses. Click on the License Name > Edit any information required > Click on Save

Scroll Past Transition Screen Settings this is not required for Homebased


Dashboard Settings (OPTIONAL) 

You can choose what you would like to display on your dashboard here

Surveys (OPTIONAL) 

If you would like to send an automated survey, 4 weeks after a child starts at your service or 4 weeks after a child leaves. You can do this here. See Instructions inside this tab for details.

Miscellaneous Items


Service Set Up > Fees (Mandatory) This will be set up by your Onboarding Specialist. You will still need to check them and make sure they are working as expected.
