What is the minimum supported OS version of a mobile app?
The minimum supported OS version of a mobile app refers to the oldest or lowest version of an operating system (such as iOS or Android) on which the app can run. It represents the baseline requirement for users to be able to install and use the app on their devices.
Why do we need to do this?
Newer Operating Systems (OS) versions come with significant improvements in terms of features, performance and security.
By increasing the minimum supported OS versions, we can provide you with the most optimised, secure and efficient app experience while taking advantage of the latest technology to continue building great features.
By setting a minimum supported OS version, developers ensure that the app functions correctly and delivers a satisfactory user experience on devices running that particular operating system version or any newer versions
By increasing the minimum support OS version, developers can leverage these advancements and provide users with a more enhanced and secure app experience.
