Templates within Discover consist of two categories:
- Templates within your enrolment form that are not the mandatory fields set out by the Ministry of Education.
- Templates within Discover that related to automated communications.
Please note, the Ministry of Education does dictate which fields are mandatory and must be included within an enrolment form. Discover will implement these sections exactly as the Ministry outlines in their example enrolment form, found here.
When a service is created within Discover it will come with a number of default templates. Initially, these are the same across all services unless an administrator or owner has mofified the information within each one.
We recomend that Templates should changed and modified to suit how you communicate with your families.
Below are some key templates, the broad purpose that they servce, a recommended inclusion and the pathway that triggers them.
Template Name | Template Purpose | Recommend Inclusion | Trigger Pathway |
| Email Access PIN | Allows you to communicate to families their access PIN for digital sign in & out. | An explanation of what digital sign in & out might be and how your centre uses it. | Bulk Communications |
| Email Default Signature | Allows you to have a standardized signature for bulk communications. | Your logo and centre contact details. | Bulk Communications |
| Family Boost Quarterly Statements | Provides information to families alongside their attached FB statement. | --- | Bulk Actions > Quarterly Statements and Centre Settings > Invoice Settings > Automate Family Boost Statements |

However, there 70 templates included within each Discover Service and there may be features that you use regularly with an associated Template. We strongly encourage you to set some time aside and to customize each of these Templates to meet your needs.
Modifying each of these Templates via Centre Setup > Templates and selecting which you would like to change. There will be a record next to each Template listing a record of who last changed it and the date it occured.
- If a Staff User from your service makes a change then their name will be listed.
- If a Discover Team Member makes a change then there may be a record with OB (Onboarding), TR (Training) or SU (Support) listed.
- If we have made a global change there will be a record with Discover.
If you're planning to use our Digital Enquiry processes within Discover, we recommend that you modify these Templates as early as you can. This ensures that you have your process and communication style locked in prompty and consistently.
Some relevant Enquiry Templates are:
- Accepted Email
- Contacted Email
- Information Sent Email
- New Enquiry Email
- Not Interested Email
- Place Offered Email
- Post Tour Follow-up Email
- Tour Completed Email
- Tour Scheduled Email
Finally, modifying your Templates can help to prevent communications to families from landing in their Junk Folders or falling foul of their Spam Filter rules. More information on this can be found here.
