Dashboard Overview

The Dashboard is the first screen administrators will see when logging into their Discover platform. Here, information can be seen about the centre, enrolments, invoices, occupancy and alerts.


Widgets can be customised via Centre Settings > Dashboard.


Please note: If all widgets have been selected to be displayed, there may be some delay in loading your Dashboard as Discover loads the information.



Gauge Charts


Discover gives you a real-time snapshot of the Children who are onsite at your centre, displayed on the Gauge Charts on the Dashboard.



The number on the right indicates the number of children who are booked for a room at a particular time of the day and the number in the center indicates the number of children who have been marked as attending for a room.  

You may see different colours when viewing these across the day. 


No Color - Currently there aren't any children onsite.
Red - The room/centre occupancy is at 30%.
Orange - The room/centre occupancy is between 30% to 60% of its assigned booking capacity.
Yellow - The room/centre occupancy is between 60% to 80% of its assigned booking capacity.
Green - The room/centre occupancy is at 90% or above its assigned booking capacity.


Overdue Invoices Amount

This widget displays the current debt owed to the centre/service from outstanding invoices.
Clicking here will open the Aged Debtors report for more information. 


Registered Staff Percentage

This widget provides a monthly overview of staffing

Days: Number of days the centre is licensed to be open in the month
Roster: Number of days staff have been rostered on.
Ratios - Highest: Highest % day of all rostered days for the month.
Ratios - Lowest: Lowest % day of all rostered days for the month. 
Ratios - Staff %: Average registered staff % for the month.
Discretionary - Rostered: Number of discretionary hours manually rostered by admin.
Discretionary - Allocated: Number of discretionary hours Discover has applied to maximise funding and reduce waste.



Average Occupancy Per Room

This widget displays the average percentage occupancy month-by-month


Occupancy This Week

This widget displays the number of children aged over and under 2, booked in to each room, by day.



Dashboard Alerts 

Discover has the ability to remind you when certain tasks need to be completed or when deadlines are approaching for you to action. 

Red Items

  • These items are considered high priority and/or time sensitive. Depending on the message navigate to the area of the system it refers to, make the changes as required and run reports where needed.
  • When it has been dealt with, close the alert by clicking on the "X" to the right of it.

Yellow Items

  • These items are considered important but not necessary. Depending on the message navigate to the area of the system it refers to, make the changes as required and run reports where needed.
  • When it has been dealt with, close the alert by clicking on the "X" to the right of it.

Frequent Absence Alert:

Discover will make a note of when children are at risk of breaking a rule.



WINZ Alert:

Five days from the end date of a child's WINZ record, a notification will appear as below:



Child Alerts


Alerts include:

  • Absence patterns that may trigger a Frequent Absent Rule (FAR).
  • NSN missing
  • Upcoming attestation form needed (birthday)
  • Immunisation due
  • Reminders (if date set in Notes tab in Child Profile)
  • Child birthdays
  • New enrolments



Staff Alerts

Alerts include:

  • Missing registration numbers
  • Anniversaries
  • Missing certification dates
  • Registration expiration upcoming
  • Police check expiration upcoming
  • First aid expiration upcoming
  • Child protection expiration upcoming
  • Staff reminders (if dates set in Notes section in Staff Profile)
  • Pay Parity steps
  • Rostering issues


When the alert has been actioned, close the notification by clicking on the "X" to the right of it.


Centre Alerts


Alerts include:


  • Attendances partially completed
  • Unverified attendances
  • Child incorrect fee
  • Need to assign Educator (name) a Coordinator (Homebased only)
  • Calendar alerts


For services that have a many rooms and educators, you can quickly identify where any incomplete attendance is from the Dashboard.

Navigate to the Attendance screen for the indicated days and forward through each room/educator. 

If you have a large number to complete, you can navigate to:

  1. Children Reports > Children Attendance Report 
  2. Select the appropriate date range 
  3. Tick "Use Attendance Only".

This will then produce the report and highlight in Yellow the incomplete records to action
