Children: Enrolments for Children Turning 3

Modified on Wed, 5 Jun at 2:08 PM

For children turning 3, administrators will need to adjust the current enrolment for a child effective from the date they turn 3yrsThis is due to the centre being able to claim a new funding type from the child's 3rd birthday, even if their birthday is mid-week.

As the child's 3rd birthday approaches, a notification will appear under the Child Notifications widget on the dashboard, and within 3 weeks of the child's birthday, a button will appear in their profile to assist administrators in updating their enrolment, this is called the "Create 3+ Enrolment".

Create 3+ Enrolment Button

1. Navigate to Children > Select the Child's profile.
2. Click the Enrolment tab.
3. Click 'Create 3+ Enrolment'.
4. Leave the Effective From date as is, as this will pre-fill with the child's birth date.
5. Make any adjustments to the schedule if necessary.
6. Click 'Save'.
7. Click the Page icon in the Enrolment screen to print the Attestation form.

Manually Creating a 3+ Enrolment

If the "Create 3+ Enrolment" is not available the enrolment can be created manually.

1. Navigate to Children > Select the Child's profile.
2. Click the Enrolment tab.

3. Click the Enrolment line that covers the child's birth date.
4. Change the 'Effective From' field to be their birth date, even if it is mid-week.
5. Click 'Save'.
6. Click the Page icon in the Enrolment screen to print the Attestation form.

ECE Hours

Discover will automatically optimise the ECE hours. The system will try to avoid adding ECE hours on a Monday, as they are typically public holidays which are unable to be claimed against unless the centre is open.

To edit the ECE hours, select the pencil symbol found on the ECE row in the schedule and type in the hours manually.

Please note: Discover will not allow you to enter more than 20 hours for the week, or 6 hours in a day. The system will also validate if there are multiple enrolments splitting the week, ensuring the hours won't exceed the 20 hours total for that week, across all separate enrolments.
