Playground App makes it easier for educators to log health events against individual child profiles or bulk add items such as sunscreen applications. This means you can spend less time on admin, and more time teaching and learning!
Check out our guides below on how to log different events against children's profiles using Playground App:
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Toileting icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the '+' icon next to the child's name.
- Tap the option/s which matches your observation
- Select/edit the time of the event.
- Add a note. This note can be viewed by the parent on their Home App.
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Sleep icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the '+' icon next to the child's name.
- Tap the option which matches your observation
- Select/edit the time of the event.
- Add a note. This note can be viewed by the parent on their Home App.
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
Record Sunscreen for a Individual Child:
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Sunscreen icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the '+' icon next to the child's name.
- Tap the option which matches your observation
- Select/edit the time of the event.
- Add a note. This note can be viewed by the parent on their Home App.
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
Record Sunscreen for Multiple Children:
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Sunscreen icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the 'Select All' icon in the bottom left hand corner
- Select the children you wish to log events for OR select all at the top
- Tap the option which matches your observation
- Select/edit the time of the event.
- Add a note. This note can be viewed by the parents for all children selected on their Home App.
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
Record a Child's Medication Event
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Medical icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the '+' icon next to the child's name.
- Tap the Medication Event. If you need to complete an Incident Report, click here for more
- Select the options which match the actions taken
- Enter in dosage measurement and method
- Select/edit the time of the event.
- Review and authorise the event
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
- Log into a room with your educator credentials
- Navigate to the Health tab at bottom of the screen
- Navigate to the Medical Events tab using the medical icon at the top of the Health screen
- Tap the intended child
- Tap "New Incident Record"
- Fill in the required details on each screen: time and location, add images, type of injury/illness, location on body, circumstances, cause, symptoms, actions taken, further steps and parent notifications
- Review the record and add signatures where necessary
- Once signed, the parent will receive a notification on their Home App that an incident report has been created and that they are required to go to the centre in order to sign this.
Please note:
- Changes cannot be made if the educator who created the document has signed the document.
- If you would like to review and make changes, including having your Authorised Nominee/Responsible Person view the record, please select "Save as Draft" at Step 7.
You can view all incident records for your centre from Playground App; including those in an unsigned status, drafts and completed reports. Follow the steps below to view these on your device:
Tap the Incident Records tile on the Dashboard screen
Sign in with your Educator login
Select from the three categories at the top: Unsigned, In-Draft, and Completed incident records.
Tap the magnifying glass icon to filter by child/room/educator
Tap the calendar icon to filter by date
Tap the phone icon to view the contact details of the Parent/Guardians, Emergency Contacts and Hub Guests listed on the Child Profile.
Tap any incident record to open it.
Parent Signatures:
- Tap the record and scroll to the far bottom
- Tap 'Add Parent Signature', enter their details and have them sign directly on the device
- Click 'Add Signature' to save the changes and move the record into a completed state.
Record a Child's Nutrition
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Nutrition icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the '+' icon next to the child's name.
- Use the search bar or select the food items from the list below
- If you cannot locate the item, upload a photo of the meal provided or type the meal item into the search bar and use the newly created term.
- You can go back and add multiple items as part of the one event
- Select the options which match the actions taken for servings and offerings
- Add a note. This note can be viewed by the parent on their Home App.
- Select/edit the time of the event. If this has not been enabled at your centre, please speak with your Administrator
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the Nutrition icon in the top menu bar.
- Tap the blue 'Select Multiple" button in the lower right hand corner.
- Select the children you wish to log events for
- Use the search bar or select the food items from the list below
- If you cannot locate the item, upload a photo of the meal provided or type the meal item into the search bar and use the newly created term.
- You can go back and add multiple items as part of the one event
- Select the options which match the actions taken for servings and offerings
- Add a note. This note can be viewed by the parent on their Home App.
- Select/edit the time of the event.
- Tap "Save"
To view the event details, click on the update now located near the child's name.
Educators can edit the event times for toileting, sleep, sunscreen, and nutrition events when creating the events.
Adding a Custom Time on Sleep, Toileting, Sunscreen, and Nutrition Events:
- Log the event following the steps listed previously in the article for each type of event.
- When up to Step 7, select the time of the event and use the clock/timer scroll to select the time you wish to enter and communicate to families.
Please Note: You can only chose a time after the child has been signed in and a time which has already past. You cannot edit events to display in the future.
- Tap the Health icon in the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the corresponding icon to the event in the top menu bar.
- Tap on the Child's photo or name to view previous health events
- Choose which filters you'd like to apply
