Attendance: Holiday Entitlements

Modified on Thu, 30 May at 3:11 PM

Discover allows you to turn on or off the holiday entitlements; you can approve a particular day for a discount and the bill payers get a credit note based on the fees for that day. This is managed by enabling the automatic mode in your Centre Settings.

Discover automatically calculates, for each calendar year how many days a child is entitled to.  This is based on the number of # Holiday Days set in your Centre Settings and how many days of the year the child is enrolled on a pro-rata basis.  Some examples for a child with a centre set to 10 days entitlement per year:

  • If the child is enrolled 5 days per week all year for 5 days per week, they will be entitled to 10 days.
  • If they are only enrolled 3 days per week all year, then they would get 3/5 of the 10 days, being 6 days per year.
  • If they are enrolled 5 days per week but for only half the year, they would be entitled to 5 days.

Add a Holiday to the Child Calendar

From the Calendar tab on the child, select a day (or multiple days -- click and drag from the left of the calendar number to select multiple days).  This will prompt you to change the selected days as on holiday or absent and allocate a discount or not.  You select the type from the dropdown and can then choose the Discount type to be applied. The child will be given holidays as long as they still have enough entitlement.  Discover will credit their account each day until they run out of entitlement.

You can override the automatic calculation to give a child a specific amount in a year. Select the Override Entitlement button, add the correct number of days and save.
