Does Home app cost centres or parents?

No, Home app is now included with Discover and is free for parents.

Can we control the speed of welcoming parents?

Yes. Many multi-service providers may choose to send the bulk invitations one site/service at a time, and this is perfectly possible. The administrator can simply wait to send the Home App Welcome Email bulk action until such time they are ready

How do families get onto Home app?

Primary caregivers are sent the Home App Welcome Email when the centre sends the email via the Bulk Action tool in the Discover platform.  This welcome email contains steps for the parents to start using Home app. You can see the email here, but the steps are:

  • Download the app (iOS, Android)

  • Login - Families with existing Discover credentials can log straight in

  • Setting Up Contacts

    • Go to the contact on Discover web version.
    • Click on the contact
    • Fill in the details in Personal Email and create a password.
    • This will send an automated email to the registered email id.
    • To reset a contact's password, the user can click on the Forgot Password option on the Home App.

Where does the QR code appear?

Once the QR code has been enabled for your center you will need to close the app and restart it. You will notice on your tablet screen the QR code.

How can parents scan the QR code? 

  1. To start using the app they need to download the Xplor Home app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store(iOS). (Instructions already sent via Welcome email to parents)
  2. Logged in successfully, click on sign-in/ out. This will open the camera of their mobile device
  3. Point it towards the QR code. This will ask for confirmation and lets them sign-in/out

How to assign a username to a parent?

The parent's username is the registered email id of the parent with the centre.

  1. For this please go to the contact on Discover web version.
  2. Click on the contact
  3. Fill in the details in Personal Email and create a password.
  4. This will send an automated email to the registered email id.

 

How to reset passwords for parents? 

Instruct the parent to request a password reset from inside the Home App by tapping Forgot password on the login screen. If this still does not work, here's how to generate a temporary password for the parent.

  1. Go to the contact.
  2. Click on the contact.
  3. Click on create a login password.
  4. Assign a temporary password this will send an automated email.

How to send a Welcome email for Home App?

  1. Go to Bulk Actions on the menu bar.
  2. In the Action drop-down > Select Send Welcome Email.
  3. Select the recipients.
  4. Click Send a Welcome email.
  5. This will send a standard instruction set to the registered parent email id.
