We have some exciting updates to share with our services. You can add additional subscribers to our emailed release notes here.
These features will be available to customers from 13th January 2023.
Discover
Enrolments
- Keeping in line with the Ministry’s new privacy updates, we’ve removed the additional free text field for “Identification Sighted” since it’s not required. Discover will also be removing this information from its database. It will no longer show in any reports or be required when searching ELI for an NSI. You will still be able to select which type of identification was sighted upon enrolment.
Pay Parity Tracking & Payroll
Pay Parity tracking has been added to Staff Profiles under the Payroll tab. You can select the current parity step, the date effective and enter any previously contributing hours. The latter field will become disabled once you type in the hour amount.
When those staff members are rostered for paid work, their hours will be tracked in the background.
From early this year, for any user with full HR access, a table called “Staff Pay Parity Tracking Summary" on the Staff Settings tab will list the staff member, their tracked hours and Pay Parity step with a countdown of hours to the next step.
Roster tasks that contribute to Pay Parity tracking will display an information panel if Pay Parity tracking is turned on.
We have added functionality to have pay rate increases based on a date by including an “Effective From” field on the Payroll tab. From here, administrators can add an increased pay rate and the date it comes into effect. This also means that past reporting relating to payroll will include whatever pay rate was active based on the “Effective From” date.
Please try not to make payroll modifications for two weeks; we will be changing the way payroll is used slightly and bringing across existing data. If the original payroll data is updated within this timeframe, we cannot guarantee you’ll have the most up-to-date data after the next release.
To find out more about Pay Parity, please see our support guide.
Payments and Discounts
To improve discount functionality, we’ve changed the logic on discounts that are left at 0.0%. If any discount is created and left at 0.0% and then selected on the enrolment, you can modify the percentage or the dollar amount without the previously selected discount type disappearing.
We’ve shifted the filter for the Debit Success tab called Active Billpayers Missing Details, so it shows all Active Billpayers, allowing administrators to resend the invite email to get users to sign up. If you wish to see active billpayers missing details, this is now behind an optional filter.
Ministry of Education
The increase to 80 discretionary hours has been adjusted in Discover, meaning the ratios will correctly calculate for unregistered staff up to 80 hours instead of 40.
The Extended Parity Funding Rates have been updated and increased for All Day Education and Care services.
Reporting
There is a new report under Staff Reports called “Weekly Staff Hours by Activity”. This allows administrators to quickly see the breakdown of total hours for each activity based on the week. For administrators with multiple centres, the ability to select which centres are included is available, and all centres will be included in the report.
Miscellaneous
Improved the centre select function in the top left to allow easier searching and clearer display. More improvements will be happening here in the next release to make it quicker and smaller!
Embedded a survey to help get on-the-go feedback so we can continue to improve Discover for all of our users.
Bug Fixes
Roster locking audit history is no longer duplicating entries.
We have revisited the fix for enrolments moving into “Past” if the Leaving Date is set, and “Future” enrolments moving into “Current” when the Start Date is reached. This should now be fixed.
The 500 error when exporting the Daily Attendance Report for a week has been fixed.
The Child Notes print option has been improved, so it displays better when printing.
We’ve fixed a bug where clicking the “Today” button on the Roster Scheduler screen took you to yesterday’s date.
Printing enrolment forms has been modified to reduce the space in rows with checkboxes to try and fit the enrolment form onto as few pages as possible.
The Discover app had issues surrounding sign-ins and sign-outs for staff. Staff Roll Call was also affected. We’ve identified and resolved the issue.
The issue where child contacts were being added as Staff Members has been resolved.
The spare capacity flag on the Roster Sheet correctly shows if it’s on or off when using the Default Setting set at the Centre level.
Editing a staff record from an enquiry now behaves as expected.
We’ve implemented some additional logic to credit notes to ensure duplicate credit notes are no longer created when the child is on holiday with a discount applied. This has also been tested with Centre Holidays and Holiday Credits as well.
Transactions are now consistent when running a debtors report and when displayed on invoices after changing enrolment details.
On the Enquiries Marketing tab, when sending an email notification, you will only be able to select contacts associated with that child.
A change has been made to fix saving an enrolment if an enrolment type hasn’t been selected yet.
A fix has been applied to enrolments being adjusted and not displaying the incorrect fee prompt if applicable.
The reset for Frequent Absence rules has been fixed, so it now correctly calculates based on the reset in October 2022.
Behaviour for parents/guardians using the Home App with centres that have Debit Success enabled now correctly shows Setup or Change Direct Debit.
Playground & Home
This is as an opt-in basis only. If you would like to use this feature, please contact our Support Team or your AE to have this switched on for you.
Educator Communication/Messenger
The Playground and Home Apps are designed for the educators/teachers and parents respectively to be empowered to help them take care of the children when in the centre or at home.
In addition to the core events, the educators/teachers would now be to communicate promptly with the parents using playground. A key element of the journey is for the parents and the educators to communicate freely with each other.
In this release, parents via the home app can freely communicate with the educators/teachers using the playground app and vice-versa.
Messenger Notifications on Home App
The Home App enables parents to stay connected with their child’s centre, providing information about children's health, safety and learning.
A key element of the journey involves educators and parents communicating with each other, which we support using Educator communications.
We’re now releasing messenger notifications in the Home App. This will ensure parents using the Home app never miss any communication!
