Rosters
We’re excited to continue improving the Roster functionality and have some wonderful centres that will be testing pay parity tracking for the next couple of weeks.
We have improved the reordering capability of the staff roster to be much quicker and easier. We’ve removed the Roster Order field from the staff profile, and added a toggleable pop up that allows users to click and drag names in the list to reorder their place in the staff roster. This automatically saves as it updates so future rosters will continue to use that same order until it’s changed again. You can find this feature on the Staff Roster > Roster Sheet with the toggle button highlighted below:
There is also the ability to have a default sort which is under Centre Settings > Roster Settings that allows users to sort by qualified through to unqualified until the order is changed on the roster view.
We have added a flag under Centre Settings > Roster Settings that allows you to turn on Spare Capacity by default. It can still be turned off and on via the Roster Sheet, but if it’s on by default, the roster loads with the spare capacity button toggled on. (This feature will be available from Wednesday, 14 December).
Pay Parity (In Beta Testing)
Pay parity tracking has been added to Staff Profiles under the Payroll tab. You can select the current parity step, the date effective and enter any previously contributing hours. The latter field will become disabled once you type in the hour amount.
When those staff members are rostered on for any paid work, their hours will be tracked in the background. For any user that has full HR access, on the Staff Settings tab, a table called “Staff Pay Parity Tracking Summary" will list the staff member, their tracked hours and pay parity step with a countdown for hours to the next step.
Enrolments
There is now an optional field called “Leaving Reason” under the Centre Details of a child. This selection will show in the Starting or Leaving report and the Child Analysis - Leaving Reason report.
Payments
Notifications for failed or rejected payments will now show as a notification.
Bug Fixes
- Statuses on the transaction list now get the actual latest status from the log, and the ordering has been corrected.
- When printing a child’s note, the detail will no longer be cut off
- A 500 error has been fixed when running Centre Balance report or Homebased Service Balance report.
- The “Is Discretionary checkbox will now be disabled if “Is Teaching” is ticked.
Playground
Playground App
Historically, Playground App has focused on features related to children’s details, while Playground Web has included programming and planning as a core feature.
In response to feedback we’ve received from customers, we're taking features from Playground Web and also making them available in Playground App. This saves time and makes educators' lives simple. In this release, we’ve added programming & planning to the app, so you can access it via an iPad or other Apple mobile device.
Background Media Upload
Observations are an integral part of an educator’s day-to-day duties. It's a common practice to make these observations richer by uploading media (photos & videos) to make them come to life even further.
With this release, media attachments are able to progress in the background, even when the educator is not actively using the app and/or engaging in other activities within Playground/other apps.
The progress is shown to the user in real-time, with no media being lost, saving educators valuable time with this automated process.
