Home Quick-Start Guide

We understand that navigating a new software system can be overwhelming, especially when juggling the demands of family life so this guide is designed to help you quickly get acquainted with the essential features and functions of Home App and Web so that you and your service can continue to support your child's learning and development.


 

Whether you're new to our platform or just need a refresher, you'll find easy-to-follow instructions and tips below to make the most of your experience with Home.


Account Set Up & Access 

As a parent/guardian, you have access to up to three of our platforms:
 

  • Home App 
  • Home Web
  • The HUB


This process is initiated by your early childhood or childcare service, which will generate a welcome email to your preferred email address after you complete the digital enrolment form or after manually creating user profiles for you and your child/ren.

The link you receive the complete the following steps via email will expire after 7 days. Once expired, you'll need to request a new link from your service.

Checking Your Statement

You can view your statement at anytime in Home App as the account summary is a "live statement" of your account's transactions with respect to the current billing period.

The statement view shows the current week, with the date range being able to be changed. You will be able to see the opening balance at the start of the date range, the fees incurred during this period, estimated subsidy and total amount due.


Viewing Bookings 

The Bookings tab in Home app will allow you to view your child/children's current, future and historic bookings.

For any date that has an orange dot above the date, this indicates a booking. For more information, Parent/Guardians can click on the date and the menu will populate to the bottom of the screen. This menu will outline:

  • Child/ Children's names
  • The Room the session is booked for
  • The Centre they are booked in
  • The session start and end time


Signing Your Children In/Out

Using the Home App, you are able to sign your child/children into and out of their booked sessions within a service through the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Sign In & Out tab within the Home App
  2. Select Sign In / Out to the bottom right of the screen
  3. Scan the QR code on the tablet within your service (if it is your first time using, you will need to give permission for the app to access the camera feature)
  4. Once scanned the Home App screen will display the children's profiles, for those with a session they can be signed in by setting the toggle on. To sign out, toggle off on the screen. Select confirm once complete.

Electronic Attendance Verification

Using the Home App, you are able to verify your child's attendances, or disagree with the attendance information on file and leave a comment noting anything that may need to be corrected


  1. Log into the Home app.
  2. Navigate to the Accounts Tab.
  3. Select Attendance Verification.
  4. Select which child to view or verify attendances for.  
  5. Select View Attendances, all attendances and their status. 
  6. By selecting the check box to the left of the week/weeks, a menu will appear at the bottom of the screen to select to Verify or Disagree. 
  7. Leave a comment if needed.
  8. Tap 'Confirm'.

View Health Timeline

At a quick glance, you can see any health events which have occurred during the day (6am-6pm) on the timeline.

We have now added the ability for you to see all of your health events across all hours of the day by rotating your screen to landscape (ensure that you have auto-rotate turned on for your device).

  • If there have been any health events during the day selected, icons should be displaying illustrating the type of health event. 

  • Pressing on the Timeline graph will take you to a view of all Health events.

View Learning Documentation

Using Home, you will be able to view documentation that your child/children has been tagged in by your service. You will also be able to interact with educators and other parents of tagged children through public comments.

Documentations are full of interesting information that has been shared by the educators at the service. To view documentation, head to the Care tab and click onto the 'View All' next to Learning. The following information is viewable on each documentation: 

  • Title and Description: written by the educator as a summary of the documentation Learning outcomes being achieved through this Post
  • Tagged Children: the first names of the other children that have been tagged in the post.
  • Comments: These comments are from other parents as well as educators and centre educators.

Creating Moments 

Moments are a fantastic way to capture the learning journeys of your children. These moments will be combined in the learning timeline with other documentation that gets created by their educators. You can add events to their timeline to keep track of your child's learning journey at home and in care. These posts are called 'Moments'. 

To create a Moment:

  1. Press on Care tab.
  2. Beside the Learning title, click View All
  3. Press on the double Camera icon on the top right.
  4. Select Photo, Video, or Gallery
  5. If necessary, grant the app permission to your camera.
  6. Add a photograph/video.
  7. Write text under the description.
  8. Add a location.
  9. Tag a child if there is more than one.
  10. Press the send icon in the top right.

Messages & Inbox

Messages are a means of families and educators communicating with each other within your service.

Messages can be seen and sent by navigating on the Home App to the Account > Inbox tab. Messages will appear on a provider level meaning any messages from centres of the same provider will be visible in this tab.

  • The service logo will appear next to the messages sent by educators.
  • Those with a green circle are new/unread messages were sent from an Educator.
  • Those with orange initials are messages the account holder has sent to the Educators.

Add Bank Details & Make Payments 

If your child is enrolled at an Xplor Pay/Debitsucess service, you can add your bank details to Home to set up your direct debits, make payments and stay on top of your payments automatically.


  1. Navigate to the Finance tab and tap on your account.
  2. Select "Setup Debit Debit" to begin the direct debit payment configuration. 
  3. If you have not setup an account with DebitSuccess yet, you'll need to complete some basic information and agree to the billing terms. If you have any concerns about these terms, please reach out to your service. 
  4. On the next screen, you can choose to enter your credit card details or your bank details
  5. Once you have saved your banking details successfully, the administrator can set up your family's preferred billing schedule, or the schedule required by the service
  6. You can edit your banking details through this tab at any stage

You can also opt to make Ad-Hoc Pay Now payments if you either have an amount owing, or are in credit (subject to a credit limit of $2000).  
1. Select the Pay Now $ button
2. This will lead to the Account Summary Screen, from their select +Pay to the bottom right
3. Input the amount to pay and then press the send button

4. Enter your card payment details into the secure form and confirm the amount is correct.
5. Review your payment details.
6. Submit your payment.


Notifications 

Notifications are visible on Home App permanently. Any notifications you receive from the service (messages, admin posts, health updates, posts etc.) will appear in your notifications tab.

If you would like to adjust the types of notifications you receive as a push notification, you can do so by clicking on the cog icon at the top right-side of the screen will take you to the notification settings screen.

  • To turn on a type of notification, tap the toggle so that it is highlighted on orange. Tap the toggle again to turn off the notification.

  • To switch all notifications on/off - tap the toggle next to 'notifications' at the top of the screen.

  • System Notification will open the system dialog to customise notifications.
