Children: Categories

Modified on Wed, 17 Apr at 1:07 PM

Categories can be used to indicate something noteworthy on a child profile.
For example, you might define a category for Nappies or Toilet Help Needed then produce a checklist report with just the children in those categories.
Using categories also gives you a way of reporting on children within a particular room that belong to a particular category only. You do not need to setup the same category for each room, they can be used across rooms.

Creating Categories

  1. Navigate to Centre Settings > Categories tab.
  2. Click 'Create New'.
  3. Add in a Name and Description.
  4. Click 'Create'.

Applying Categories

  1. Navigate to the Child Profile > Child tab > scroll to Centre Details.
  2. Select the relevant items from the 'Categories' dropdown.
  3. Click 'Save'.

Using Categories for Checklists

There are several reports in Discover that provide filtering by Category.

For example, if you would like to create a list of children with special meal plans or bottle routines, you may choose to generate a Daily Food Chart with the bottle or meal plan category filter.

Discover will remove any children without those categories selected on their profile to ensure only the relevant children will appear on your report.

Checklists with Category Filters:

Available via Reports > Checklists.

  • Daily Checklist
  • Daily Sleep Chart
  • Sunscreen Checklist
  • Daily Food Chart
  • Daily Bottle Chart
  • Weekly Checklist
  • Nappy & Toileting Chart
  • Sleep Room Supervision

Further information on the fields available within these checklists can be found on our Checklists Report page

Additionally, any categories a child has been assigned as a whole can be viewed within the Child Details Report.
